Raised just outside Asheville, NC, Tia is a proud native of this famously artistic and eclectic town. Shortly after graduating from Enka high school, Tia attended Carolina College of Hair Design. During her time at CCHD, she was gifted her very first airbrush makeup system. Sparking a complete love affair with all things makeup. Tia became especially interested in special effects and prosthetic makeup used for theater and stage. After years of making makeup a hobby, it was the birth of Tia’s son that sparked her will to finally find a way to turn her creativity into something tangible. Brush Fire Artistry created a space for Tia to be the mother she wanted to be, while also helping her make space to seek out her creative identity.

It wasn’t until meeting Sarah Hooker, owner of Virago Boudoir, that Tia’s goals and mission for her work started to really take form. In 2020, Sarah and Tia joined their forces and enthusiasm for the female community. Together, they’ve worked with hundreds of women, welcoming them into the world of self discovery and love. Feeding both her creativity and her drive to forge change in the way women see themselves, Tia found a home at Virago.
